FAA Sanctions Airline for ‘Minor’ Infractions

The Federal Aviation Administration has cited Allegiant Air for a number of minor procedural infractions uncovered after a three-month audit. Allegiant will reportedly not face penalties or enforcement action as a result of the citations, and will have until September 30 to fix the issues. Throughout the course of the audit, Allegiant crew members were observed habitually ignoring procedures, ramp personnel did not fully fill out necessary forms, and passengers were seen with carry-on luggage that was too large. The carrier released a summary of the findings on Thursday, claiming that it has already begun the work of resolving the issues cited in the FAA’s report.
