FA Allegedly Tells Muslim PAX “I Will Be Watching You”

An American Airlines flight attendant targeted a Muslim passenger for harassment on a December flight, repeatedly telling him “I will be watching you,” according to a complaint filed on Wednesday by the Council on American-Islamic Relations. The passenger, Mohamed Radwan, was in the process of taking his seat aboard the flight from Charlotte, N.C., to Detroit when a flight attendant allegedly issued a warning over the flight’s PA system: “Mohamed Ahmed, seat 25-A: I will be watching you.”

The complaint filed claims that when Radwan asked the flight attendant to clarify the comments, he was told he was being “too sensitive,” and was later removed from the flight after the flight attendant who made the alleged announcement was “uncomfortable.” An investigation by American Airlines determined that no discrimination occurred, and company spokesman Matt Miller said, “We serve customers of all backgrounds and faiths and do not tolerate discrimination of any kind.”
