Explosion Causes Evacuation at Atlanta Airport

A small explosion at a maintenance shed at Atlanta’s Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport caused an evacuation this morning. The incident occurred at 8:40 a.m. There was a partial power outage until 10:30 a.m.

The north side of Concourse D was evacuated to Concourse E.

The explosion appeared to be electrical. According to the FBI the incident did not appear to be terrorism-related.

After the brief evacuation, the Concourse was re-oppened.
