Is The British Airways Executive Club Relaxing the Rules for Summer?

On the FlyerTalk Forum, user cheshirepete shared a letter that they received from British Airways:

“Dear Mr cheshirepete,
We hope you are looking forward to your flight to London from Manchester on 29 July 2018.
As a valued Executive Club Member, we’d like to help make this trip extra special by extending lounge access to up to five of your guests.
Thank you for your continued loyalty.
We look forward to welcoming you and your guests.”

What makes anyone think it's necessarily that much better for returning UK citizens? I count myself lucky if my wait is 1hr to 1 and a quarter. At Gatwick even with the passport reading machines, so many of them are not working at peak times, that it can be faster to be a non-UK national and not use the machines but try to use the queues. And Stansted is a joke. Routinely the most unpleasant landing experience out of all the London airports except Luton, due to the queues at anything approaching a peak time arrival. It's a national embarrassment.
