Flight Delayed When Pax Refuses to Check Bag

On Monday, a United Express flight departing from Indianapolis International Airport (IND) was delayed after an allegedly verbally abusive passenger refused to go back to the gate in order to check their baggage after it became apparent that their baggage would not fit in the overhead bin.

United Airlines released a statement on the incident:

“A customer on United Express flight 3708 from Indianapolis to Newark was asked to check her oversized bag, and she refused to do so. She became verbally abusive to the crew and they asked her to leave the aircraft. The customer refused and all customers were asked to deplane. To minimize the inconvenience to our customers, we arranged for a different aircraft to make the flight from Indianapolis to Newark last night.”

Stupid bonehead thing to have all customers to deplane. Counter-productive. Could have even have been enough to incite some passenger to punch this idiot.

I don't think United is ever going to drag anyone else off a plane!!!

Crew are now deplaning all passengers so everyone with a phone can't post it on social media giving another black eye to them, even the airline is in the right.

This is getting ridiculous. They should have dragged her off the plane. "Minimizing the inconvenience" by deboarding all passengers instead of one, along with all baggage? What is wrong with airlines these days?
