Everyone on This Flight Got a Free Nintendo Switch!?

On a recent flight from Dallas to San Diego, Nintendo paired up with Southwest Airlines for a promotion that provided every single passenger on the flight a free Nintendo Switch console and a free copy of Mario Maker 2.

Passengers on Wednesday’s Southwest Airlines flight from Dallas to San Diego were some of the luckiest people in the air that day. The airline had teamed up with Nintendo to promote the release of the new Mario Maker 2—and gave every passenger on the plane, not just a free copy of the game, but also a free Nintendo Switch console.

Passengers on the flight instantly took to social media to thank the airline and the video game company, Dallas News reported.

Nintendo of America addressed the fun promotion in a statement.

“With the help of Southwest, we brought smiles to an entire plane full of people,” Nick Chavez, the senior vice president of sales and marketing for Nintendo of America, said. “We hope that spirit of fun lasts for a long time, as now everyone on the flight has a Nintendo Switch system and Super Mario Maker 2 to play at home or on their future travels.”

More giveaways are on planned for next month, but if you already have the game, check out course ID 39C-LQR-WLF—it’s an air travel-themed level designed by Nintendo and Southwest.
