The cut was raised to her attention by a passenger with the airline and it was noted that Emirates and Delta Air Lines have altered the film.

Actress Olivia Wilde has expressed her disappointment after Etihad Airways apparently removed the same-sex love scene from Booksmart, her very first directorial debut, The Independent reports.

The edited version was brought to Wilde’s attention on Twitter by passenger Michaela Barton.

Under UAE law, homosexuality can be punished by imprisonment. Maybe Etihad (and Emirates) cut the scene, in accordance with UAE laws.

I don’t think airlines have a censoring committee. Most likely censoring happens at the distributors since we have multiple airlines being called out on the same issue.
