Olivia Wilde and Etihad Airways (and Delta and United) Are Feuding Over Sex
Actress and director Olivia Wilde has spoken of her disappointment after finding out that Etihad Airways has apparently cut a same-sex love scene from her film Booksmart. The cut was raised to her attention by a passenger with the airline and it was noted that Emirates and Delta Air Lines have altered the film.
Actress Olivia Wilde has expressed her disappointment after Etihad Airways apparently removed the same-sex love scene from Booksmart, her very first directorial debut, The Independent reports.
The edited version was brought to Wilde’s attention on Twitter by passenger Michaela Barton.
Tried watching Booksmart on the plane and they cut the ENTIRE lesbian hookup scene like not even a KISS was allowed! oh but don't worry guys, the Straights got their kiss 🙄

Based on additional information offered by other passengers, Delta Air Lines and Emirates have also altered this particular scene.
The outlet has made contact with Etihad for further comment.

I don’t think airlines have a censoring committee. Most likely censoring happens at the distributors since we have multiple airlines being called out on the same issue.
Under UAE law, homosexuality can be punished by imprisonment. Maybe Etihad (and Emirates) cut the scene, in accordance with UAE laws.
