Emirates Strikes $16 Billion A380 Deal

On Thursday, Emirates announced that it had completed an order for 20 Airbus A380 aircraft to the tune of $16 billion. This comes on the heels of a press statement by Airbus stating that it would be forced to cease production of the superjumbo jet if unable to continue sales to airlines.

Airbus needed Emirates ? or Emirates needed Airbus ? Probably both. In any case, pax are the winners. Great airplane.

How is that a deal ... woudln't that make each unit roughly double the price of the early models???
