Earn Double, Triple AAdvantage Miles After Flying Several Segments
Select American Airline AAdvantage members received an email from the airline with an offer to earn bonus miles through Jan. 7.
The terms of the promotion vary, but you can earn either double or triple AAdvantage miles by flying select oneworld partners after completing a number of qualifying segments on paid tickets on American Airlines—up to eight. Participating oneworld partners include American Airlines, American Eagle, British Airways, Finnair, Iberia and Japan Airlines.
If you were targeted for this offer, it may include different terms. Only those frequent fliers who received the email and are registered by Oct. 19 are eligible for the promo.
Bonus earnings are calculated based on the fare cost, minus taxes and fees, for American Airline flights and on the percentage of the distance flown for all other partners. Elite Qualifying Segments or Elite Qualifying Dollars are not affected by the promo.
The bonus miles apply to all eligible flights taken during the promo after the registration date upon completing the initial qualifying segments.
If you earn AAdvantage miles and received the email, I recommend registering for the promotion just in case, even if you do not have any travel plans at the moment. Sure, the AA award charts have devalued quite a bit, and the availability is horrendous, but when the opportunity to earn some easy miles presents itself, you’ve got to take it.
