Drunk Pilot Booted From Flight Moments Before Takeoff

A SriLankan Airlines pilot was removed from a flight from Frankfurt, Germany to Colombo, Sri Lanka just minutes before takeoff due to failing a breathalyzer test. The flight, which contained 274 passengers, was delayed by 15 hours Friday after the crew noticed the pilot acting “visibly” drunk, and SriLankan Airlines was forced to find a replacement pilot for the flight to Colombo. An investigation of the incident is underway, and the carrier claims that it will comply fully with authorities.
