Drag Queen Turns Concierge, Makes Marriott Hotels FABULOUS

Iconic British drag queen Anna Phylactic is joining the Marriott team this summer as a concierge at select properties across the U.K. Phylactic will be welcoming and assisting guests at the Renaissance Manchester City Centre Hotel, as well as Marriott hotels in Leeds, Liverpool and Glasgow.

“Who better to tell you the best places to go during Pride events than a drag queen?” commented Phylactic. “I know the who, where and what for all the events and my new job gives me the opportunity to share this insider knowledge with anyone staying at one of these fabulous hotels.”

Laura Philips, senior marketing manager of Marriott Hotels U.K., says the company is thrilled to be working with Phylactic. “By employing someone who is so central to the LGBT community we are able to give customers the best advice on the popular bars, the number of late-night taxi services and the most relaxing places to visit after partying has finished – ultimately facilitating the best possible Pride experience.”

Phylactic won’t be the only surprise welcoming guests this summer. Marriott is also rolling out a special pride package that provides guests with a free digital guide and selfie stick, as well as a late checkout option, special breakfast and complimentary Wi-Fi.
