DHS Watchlist System Briefly Shuts Down, Passengers Delayed

Passengers at some of the country’s busiest airports experienced delays Wednesday evening after the computer system that screens passenger information against terrorist watch lists briefly went down.

The system outage last around 90 minutes, according to U.S. Customs and Border Protection. The problem reportedly happened in the processing division at airports of entry into the U.S. During the outage, travelers continued to be checked against the list via handwritten forms.
