Delta Shakes Meltdown, Resumes Operations (Mostly)

After a five-day rash of severe disruptions to the airline’s flight schedules, it seems to be back to business as usual on Monday for Delta Air Lines. As of 2 p.m. Eastern Time, the carrier had only canceled four flights, although FlightStats notes that the delay count has been increasing slowly since then.

According to Delta spokesperson Michael Thomas, Delta “expects to operate more than 99% of its scheduled operations Monday,” but “a small number of residual cancellations may be possible.”

We all understand weather delays in ATL. The problem is that DL did not seem to have a recovery plan in place. My wife was delayed returning via ATL for two days in Savannah, GA. When she finally got a seat it was not to where we live, and she started, but to another airport, a 2-hour drive each way.

Canceling those interline agreements aren't doing too well for DL after all.
