Second space, same place: Additional Delta Sky Club Lounge at JFK comes just as the summer sees the airline operate its biggest-ever trans-Atlantic schedule.
Delta Air Lines flyers going through John F. Kennedy International Airport's (JFK) Terminal 4 will have a new place to relax and watch operations during stopovers.

The Atlanta-based carrier announced it is opening a second Sky Club Lounge at their New York hub, featuring a new Sky Deck for planespotting.

New Space, New Features

Located within Terminal 4 near Gate A7, this 14,000-square foot space has the capacity to seat 250 guests and will operate in tandem alongside Delta Air Lines’ other Sky Club Lounge facility at JFK, which can be found on Concourse B within Terminal 4. Collectively, these clubs will have the capacity to host more than 800 people.

In an announcement on Monday, Delta highlighted the features of this new lounge, which comes complete with a covered Sky Deck, a fireplace and a speakeasy vibe. The focal point of this Sky Club Lounge is a 360-degree bar, but – in addition to this – this space will also feature global Jewish cuisine courtesy of Elyssa Heller, founder and CEO of Edith’s Eatery & Grocery. From now until September, guests can enjoy specialties like brisket hash sandwiches, veggie latkes, labneh parfaits and Edith’s famed Iced Café Slushie.

A Timely Opening

Delta has invested heavily in JFK over the last decade – and, most recently – has funded a $1.5 billion expansion project at the airport, which is one of its main hubs. The opening of this second Sky Club at JFK is timely; this summer will see the airline operate its biggest ever trans-Atlantic schedule from the facility. Additionally, the coming months will see Delta add on two new Latin American routes from JFK with services to Buenos Aires and Rio de Janeiro.

Commenting on the launch of this second new space, Claude Roussel, Managing Director — Delta Sky Club, said, “This new Club is beautifully designed and packed with special details that reflect the magic of New York City. But much more important than that, it’s a place where our people can deliver Delta Sky Club’s signature hospitality, making each guest feel welcomed and cared for from the moment they step inside.”

So is it actually open? The press release and this article (same thing, really) don't make it clear.

I'd like to paint Delta's lounges for them. That's one of my side hustles from my aviation career.
