Delta Flight Makes Emergency Landing at LAX

Delta Air Lines Flight 2116 from Los Angeles made an emergency landing Tuesday morning after experiencing undisclosed “problems” midair shortly after takeoff. The Boeing 757 — carrying 146 passengers and six crew members — took off from Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) at 8:39 a.m. local time, bound for Minneapolis. DL2116 touched down on Runway 25 at 9:35 a.m. LAX spokeswoman Amanda Parsons says “a mechanical issue” prompted the emergency landing.
