Conde Nast Reveals Hottest New Hotels of the Year

Conde Nast has released its annual hot list, honoring hotels and resorts that opened in the past year.

Conde Nast Traveler magazine recently released its Hot List, a ranking showcasing the sixty best hotels and resorts that opened over the last year. The list is separated into eight categories: Best Bargains, Urbanist Standouts, Beachside Escapes, Design Stars, Good Food, Over-the-Top Luxury, Family Friendly, and Remote and Wild.

“The standout properties were those that understood the intuitive needs of the modern traveler,” Pilar Guzman, Conde Nast Traveler‘s editor in chief, told CNN. “The sweet spot for a Hot List hotel is a combination of old school extravagance and service with just the right measure of modernity.”

Urbanist Standouts and Design Stars recognized the most properties, with 13 in each, including the Park Hyatt in New York and The Peninsula in Paris for Urbanist, and the Aman in Tokyo and The Norman in Tel Aviv as Design Stars.

Four of the five Family-Friendly hotels were based in the US: Edson Hill in Vermont, the Four Seasons Resort at Disney in Orlando, the Ritz-Carlton in California, and the Watch Hill Inn in Rhode Island. Ecuador’s Pikaia Lodge took the fifth spot in the category.

Other hotels honored include: the Delano Las Vegas for Best Bargains, The Miami Beach EDITION for Beachside Escapes, the Soho House Chicago for Good Food, the Raffles Instanbul for Over-the-Top Luxury, The Brando in French Polynesia for Remote and Wild, and more.
