Close Call Aboard Thomas Cook Flight After Engine Explodes

On a November 27 flight, an aircraft operated by Thomas Cook experienced a pre-flight malfunction that caused one engine to explode before the flight was set to depart from Frank País Airport (HOG).

One passenger said that the pilot sounded “verbally shaken to the point where his voice cracked and he sounded like he was going to burst into tears. At that point I realised it was very serious.”
