Cleveland Clinic Doctor Save Allergic Woman’s Life on AA Flight

After her body slipped into anaphylactic shock due to an allergic response to a bag of chips she had consumed immediately before her flight with American Airlines, 28-year-old Ashley Spencer’s life was saved by a medical professional who happened to be aboard the aircraft. Dr. Erich Kiehl, who injected her four times with an epi-pen, carefully monitored Spencer’s vital signs until she was able to be rushed to a hospital once the flight had made an emergency landing.
