CLEAR Comes to Houston’s Intercontinental Airport

It’s already currently in use at around 30 airports around the nation, but biometric processing solution CLEAR is now available to use at United terminals within Houston’s George Bush Intercontinental Airport (IAH). CLEAR uses biometric information to make the screening process smoother for passengers.

The biometric processing solution CLEAR is now available at United Airlines‘ terminals at George Bush Intercontinental Airport (IAH).

CLEAR is a paid-for membership service that uses a passenger’s unique biometric details – specifically their irises and fingerprints – to create an encrypted code that helps to verify individual identity at security checkpoints. CLEAR status can be combined with TSA Pre✓® and Global Entry to make the screening process even smoother.

According to CLEAR’s website, CLEAR lanes are now open in Terminal A, B and E at George Bush Intercontinental Airport. It is reported that this service may at some point also be available in Terminal C.

This expansion of CLEAR’s facilities comes just a few months after CLEAR and United announced a strategic partnership, as reported here by FlyerTalk. As of this summer, CLEAR was already available at United hubs at Los Angeles, San Francisco, Denver and Washington Dulles International Airport (IAD).

As part of this partnership – and as noted by FlyerTalk forum users – United is offering discounted CLEAR membership for its MileagePlus customers, with prices starting at $109 annually for Premier Silver, Gold or Platinum members. A full breakdown of prices is available to view here.

Offering his comments on the collaboration to FindBiometrics, CLEAR VP of Corporate Affairs Howard Kass said, “CLEAR’s partnership with United is focused on making travel easier and more predictable for MileagePlus members by delivering experiences that surprise and delight them throughout their journey.”

Meanwhile, Ian Wadsworth, Houston Airport System Chief Commercial Officer, was quoted as saying, “We are thrilled that CLEAR is expanding service to additional terminals at George W. Bush Intercontinental Airport. CLEAR will provide faster identification screening for travelers, but beyond that, this service highlights what the exciting future of travel is all about- using the latest biometric technology to provide a more seamless customer experience.”

So for the headline "comes to IAH" you mean expands. It has been at the Terminal A since 2014.
