Chase Added Two New Transfer Partners (And Why It Doesn’t Really Matter)

Chase announced that they have added both Iberia and Aer Lingus as 1:1 transfer partners of Chase Ultimate Rewards.

As a general rule, every time a transfer partner is added to a transferable points currency, it’s a good thing. In this case, it kind of doesn’t really matter.

Chase has offered transfers to British Airways at a 1:1 ratio for as long as I can remember. While there are a few requirements to meet, you can more-or-less freely transfer your British Airways Avios points to both Iberia and Aer Lingus. This means that Chase’s new transfer partners aren’t really new after all.

Now, there is just a more direct, convenient way to transfer your Ultimate Rewards to both Iberia and Aer Lingus. This is a good thing because it will save everyone time and effort, but it’s not as good as adding a truly new transfer partner. If you were willing to put in the time and effort before, you could still access both of these programs and their award charts.

What do you think about Chase’s new transfer partners?

That poor child. I am talking about the birth mother. I cannot imagine what her life must be like to not be aware of her options. But then again, maybe she does not feel she has options. I hope everything goes ok for her. The baby will be taken care of, there are many, many folks who will be ecstatic to give it a good home.
