Charges Dropped Against Singer Who Allegedly Assaulted Crew

Dolores O'Riordan was on a plane from New York to Shannon

Dolores O’Riordan, lead singer of The Cranberries, is no longer facing jail time for her guilty plea of assault on a female crew member and police officers on a November 2014 flight. Following a court hearing Wednesday, O’Riordan, who was diagnosed as bipolar since the incident, has been ordered to pay 6,000 euros to a charity.

Because of her alleged mental state, a judge ruled it would be unfair to impose a criminal conviction on the singer and accepted she had no memory of the outburst.
