Charge Your Phone Via Aircraft Window

Aircraft interior manufacturer B/E Aerospace has filed a patent for a window shade dubbed the Solar Eclipse that can charge mobile devices using a built-in, solar-powered USB port. “Super-efficient, thin film solar cells integrated into the window shade convert the high-solar irradiation available at altitude into energy,” said the company explained in its briefing at last year’s Crystal Cabin Awards.
