CBP: American Airlines FA Will Face Charges for Voyeuristic Toilet Videos

US officials say the American Airlines crew member was found with hours of hidden camera “peephole” videos that were recorded in the restroom of a Phoenix area Walmart.

An American Airlines flight attendant is facing charges after being busted in December at the border with hidden camera voyeuristic videos of men using the toilets at a Phoenix area Walmart store. Police say that Gordon Harold Nobriga spent “hours on end” recording images through a peephole of unsuspecting men and boys using the store’s restroom.

According to Phoenix ABC News affiliate KNXV, the 50-year-old was stopped by US Customs and Border Protection (CBP) at an El Paso border crossing. Agents say that they discovered images of apparently unaware Walmart shoppers using the toilet in videos that were saved on Nobriga’s mobile phone. Agents did not arrest Nobriga at the time, but instead referred the matter to investigators in Phoenix where he is based.

Interviews with Nobriga’s alleged victims, one of whom was a 14-year-old child, led to the flight attendant being arrested as he exited a flight at Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport (PHX) on May 25. Airline officials told the television station that the flight attendant who has been with the company for more than 16 years will keep his job for now, pending the results of an internal investigation.

“We take this matter very seriously, and have been cooperating with law enforcement throughout their investigation,” American Airlines officials said in a statement released after the crew member’s arrest late last month. “Since this case is a pending criminal matter, we must refer all questions to Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) and the U.S. Attorney’s Office in Phoenix.”

Nobriga reportedly admitted to law enforcement that he took the invasive videos through a peephole in a bathroom stall. The crew member, however, denied sharing the recordings with anyone else. He is currently facing 11 counts of voyeurism, but federal authorities say additional charges could be forthcoming as the investigation yields more victims.

To quote ioto1902, the author profiled the flight attendant as the stereotypical hypersexual flight attendant/pilot character in tune with the popular culture portrait. Statistics though show the highest levels of infidelity and frolicking among airplane workers very close of financial workers, IMHO the fear of death or great financial loss does wonders for the exacerbation of primal instincts.

The title is misleading. It sounds like voyeurism occurred on a plane. The job of this guy has nothing to do with the felony.
