Caught on Camera: Tardy Traveler Tries to Open Closed Plane Door, Kicks & Screams at Security Guards

A tardy AirAsia passenger had no intention of letting a closed plane door stop her from boarding her flight.

There is a certain joy that comes with running through an airport terminal hoping to make a flight in time and finding that the plane is still at the gate waiting, but sometimes that joy turns into crushing disappointment when the gate agent explains the plane’s door is shut and boarding is closed.

Most passengers will half-heartedly question closed door ruling, meekly reminding the gate agent that the plane is right there. Some flyers will debate the finer points of the issue more than others, but in the end, it is nearly always a waste a breath and late passengers will soon turn their attention to making alternate travel plans.

One AirAsia passenger could teach us all something about determination. The tardy passenger at Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KUL) refused to take “no” for an answer and luckily someone managed to capture her quixotic struggle on video.

The Daily Mail reports that upon being told her flight was no longer boarding, this insistent flyer evaded security and made her way through the jetway, reaching the plane, where she ultimately attempted to open the aircraft door and let herself onboard.

In the video, the single-minded passenger can be seen kicking security officers who were attempting to pry her away from the plane. Despite the increasing security presence, the irate passenger was resolute in the belief that she was in the right telling security, “I have a ticket.” She can then be heard screaming, “It’s supposed to wait for me.”

“It’s my flight. You have no right,” she warned officers before resting her case. Meanwhile, passengers and crew on the plane were buckled in and about to push back from the gate.

AirAsia representatives said the unidentified woman, who is a Chinese national, was turned over to police for questioning.

It seems that the Chinese policy of ensuring good behavior for its traveling citizens hasn't quiet kicked in yet...or been broadcast sufficiently to its citizenry. This is one of those instances where you appreciate that China has a totalitarian government and can actually strictly enforce its preferred good behavior for its citizenry. It might do this entitled woman some good to pay a substantial fine and spend a few nights in jail to reflect on her stupidity...and warn others who might learn from such action.
