Canadian Passenger Bill of Rights Details Overbooking Policy

On Tuesday, Canadian Transportation Minister Marc Garneau announced that regulations in a new “passenger bill of rights” would ensure that no passengers aboard departing flights to Canada would be removed from the aircraft due to overbooking by carriers. Garneau went on to say that if carriers are unable to solicit volunteers with a minimum of compensation, they will be required to increase the offer of compensation for volunteers.
