Budget Carrier Peach Awards Airbus $1.4 Billion

Airbus has signed an agreement with Japanese budget carrier Peach Aviation Ltd. for an order of 10 A320neo aircraft and three A320ceo aircraft priced at $1.4 billion. Peach announced the deal in a statement on Friday and added that it intends to grow its current fleet to at least 35 aircraft by 2020 and to an even 100 aircraft by an unspecified future date.

Peach intends to establish a base at Sendai Airport (SDJ) in 2017 and at Sapporo’s New Chitose Airport (CTS) in 2018, according to Chief Executive Officer Shinichi Inoue.
