Bag Bursts Into Flames in Overhead Bin

On Sunday, a bag stored in the overhead bin of an aircraft operated by China Southern Airlines caught fire while passengers were boarding due to what appears to be a combusting power bank.

No lasting damage to the aircraft was reported, nor injury to passengers.

I would have expected cabin crew to have a better fire fighting protocol. Pour water on a burning L-Ion battery is NOT going to work.
Most likely a cheap Chinese made battery
