BA Wants You to Know It’s “Sorry” For Saturday’s Massive Screwup

In light of a series of luggage systems failures at London Heathrow Airport (LHR) over the weekend, British Airways is attempting to assuage cranky customers by assuring them they’ll be reunited with their bags soon. In a statement issued Wednesday, the airline said:

There are still a number of bags to be reunited with customers following the baggage system failure … Teams around the world are working hard to reunite people with their bags as soon as possible, and we are sorry for any inconvenience caused to our customers. We are sorry for any inconvenience caused to our customers.

The luggage system failures impacted travelers flying out of Terminals 3 and 5 on Saturday. There are reports that British Airways customers who flew to Budapest received their luggage Tuesday, but many travelers are still waiting for their belongings.

According to British Airways, the luggage systems are once again functioning normally.
