BA to Charge for Hot Water on Short-Haul Flights

When British Airways commences their upcoming Buy on Board short-haul service in January of 2017, the carrier plans to offer hot water only to flyers who have purchased in-flight beverages. Flight crew are instructed to only make “potable water” available on request, and all other food and beverages will come with a charge attached, including hot water in which customers can use their own teabags and instant coffee.

“We haven’t reached this decision because we were going to take a huge amount of cost out of the business. The decision has been taken because of choice and quality,” said British Airways CEO Alex Cruz.

"..carrier plans to offer guests to flyers who have purchased in-flight beverages" Does that mean you can eat a fellow passenger when you buy a drink or that you can host a guest on a flight as long as you buy a beverage? Both options are fascinating!
