Today, British Airways organized a display of the £400 million spent on its new lounges at Gatwick Airport (LGW), as well as new its new First Class Wing at Heathrow Airport (LHR).

“We have committed to spend £400 million around the Club experience. We are going to change the overall quality and food and drink on board. We believe we can make a step change not only in the quality but in how it is presented,” said Alex Cruz, CEO and chairman of British Airways.

Cruz went on to predict that many other carriers would adopt British Airways’ Buy on Board model, adding that levels of customer approval had been rising as issues with service and payments have been increasingly resolved.

Badly necessary as those BA lounges are becoming pretty run down. Service is almost always sub par even in First and the food not worth mentioning about so I doubt that these little touch ups will change much!
