BA No Longer Offering Unaccompanied Minor Service
In a move to save money, British Airways is ceasing its “Unaccompanied Minor” service, which currently provides “flying nannies” to children under the age of 12 who are traveling alone with the carrier. According to the company, existing tickets will be honored, but children under 12 must now be supervised by someone 16 years or older.
“Despite the overall growth in our customer numbers over the last decade, demand for our unaccompanied minor service has declined by two thirds, falling by 21 percent in the last year,” said an airline spokeswoman.
