BA Institutes Facial Recognition Technology at LHR

British Airways has confirmed in a letter to staff that it will be deploying new technology meant to allow passengers to pass through security at Heathrow Airport (LHR) with the aid of biometric facial recognition. The devices, housed within the main screening area of Terminal 5, will scan passengers’ facial features along with their boarding passes, and the operation is intended to streamline the boarding process and minimize scanning errors.
