ATL Sniffer Dog Discovers Whole Pig Head in Baggage
On October 11, a flyer passing through Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport (ATL) was discovered to have been carrying a pig’s head after arriving from Ecuador when an airport beagle named Hardy discovered it in the passenger’s baggage.
Let’s be real here: This is primarily newsworthy due to this photo of a beagle looking extremely proud of himself for having discovered a pig’s head. Look at that face. LOOK AT IT. What a good dog.

I mean, it's a pig's head. The head of a pig. A human with the worst stuffy nose head cold in the universe coulda smelled that. I think the only option is to send Hardy to me for additional training, boop da nose, and treats.
I have a shepherd who could smell that pig's head all the way across the arrival's hall as it came down the chute! Maybe we should get her a job.
Almost certainly not in "security". Almost certainly in International Arrivals (aka Customs and Immigration) where beagles are typically used to sniff out undeclared food items.
