Asiana Airlines to Compensate San Francisco for Crash

Asiana Airlines has agreed to compensate the city of San Francisco with $3.45 million due to damages stemming from a July 2013 crash at San Francisco International Airport (SFO) that resulted in the deaths of three passengers and the injuries of dozens of others. The South Korean airline is set to resolve a legal claim brought against the company by San Francisco, demanding compensation for cleanup costs and legal fees in the wake of the crash. City attorney Dennis Herrera said, “This proposed settlement represents the final chapter in the sad tragedy Asiana caused, and we’re grateful to reach a resolution on our claims without the need for litigation.”
