Amex to Open Centurion Lounge at JFK

American Express has just announced their plans to open the biggest Centurion Lounge yet. The new lounge will be located at New York JFK in Terminal 4 and will cover over 15,000 square feet! Terminal 4 is home to many international carriers as well as Delta Air Lines. The lounge is planned to open in early 2019.

Other U.S. airports that currently have Centurion Lounges include Dallas (DFW), Houston (IAH), Las Vegas (LAS), Miami (MIA), New York (LGA), Philadelphia (PHL), San Francisco (SFO), and Seattle (SEA).

Special features of the lounge are to be announced at a later date, but you can bet that they’ll include (good) hot food, showers, cocktails, and more — just like all of the current Centurion Lounges offer.

Access to this new Centurion Lounge as well as any of the other Centurion Lounges can be gained by being a Platinum Card from American Express or Business Platinum Card from American Express OPEN cardholder. Cardmembers can gain complimentary access regardless of the destination they are flying to and which airline they are flying on for themselves and up to two guests.

I absolutely love Centurion Lounges so I’m pretty excited that a new one is being planned. Unfortunately, I don’t fly into, through, or out of JFK that often, so I’m not sure when I’ll have the opportunity to check it out (and I haven’t planned anything for 2019 yet anyway). Hopefully, a new lounge in Denver isn’t too far down on American Express’ list!

What do you think of a new American Express Centurion Lounge being put in JFK Terminal 4?
