American Express’ CEO Stepping Down, Successor Named

Longtime American Express CEO Ken Chenault, 66, will retire at the end of the year after 17 years at the helm. Under Chenault’s leadership, American Express established the co-branding deals with airlines and hotel loyalty programs.

Chenault will be succeeded by American Express’ vice president Stephen J. Squeri on February 1st, 2018.
