Allegiant Reaches Agreement With Pilot Union

Allegiant Air Coronavirus Policy Change Cancellation Refund

Allegiant Air has come to a contract agreement with pilot union Teamsters Local 1224 after over three years of negotiations regarding wage increases, retirement and medical benefits. A spokesperson for Allegiant said that the contract would benefit pilots while allowing the carrier to keep prices competitively low. Although the details of the agreement have not been disclosed publicly, union pilots plan to hold a ratification vote in late July, according to a spokesperson for the union. This occasion marks the first new contract since the airline pilots agreed to be represented by Teamsters in 2012. The negotiations were initially troubled by the union’s claims that that Allegiant was observing subpar safety standards, and that the carrier ignored a federal court order to maintain the integrity of benefits and work rules during ongoing negotiations.
