Alaska to Close New York Pilot Base, Relocate Pilots
In September of this year, Alaska Airlines has plans to close down its pilot base in New York in order to reallocate to its fleet of aircraft on the West Coast, as well as to request that over 100 of its pilots who currently fly from John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK), Newark Liberty International Airport (EWR) and LaGuardia Airport (LGA) relocate to California.
Alaska Airlines will continue offering routes to and from New York after this change goes into effect.
