Alaska Pilot Gives FA Her Kidney

Alaska Airlines pilot Jodi Harskamp has donated one of her kidneys to her coworker Jenny Stansel, an Alaska Airlines flight attendant whose kidneys were failing due to lupus.

“My very last flight I was so ill that I had to take a passenger’s seat, and I went into the hospital that day,” said Stansel, who has spent about a year on medical leave due to complications from lupus.

“If it means Jenny is going to get another 20, 30, 40, 50 years out of my kidney, and I’m going to live just as long as I was going to live before, why not?” said Harskamp.
