Alaska and Condor Add Codesharing to Partnership

Alaska Airlines has a new codeshare partner in Condor, as the two expand their partnership even further.

Alaska Airlines flyers will soon be able to seamlessly book their way to Europe thanks to an expanded agreement with a German leisure airline.

Condor announced an expanded partnership with the Seattle-based carrier to include an interline agreement, giving both carriers the opportunity to sell and market flights for one another.

Alaska Increases Partnerships to 16, in Addition to Oneworld Alliance

Prior to the expanded agreement, both airlines had a small partnership limited to earning miles. Condor flyers could earn Mileage Plan credits when flying with the German carrier within Europe or around the world.

Under the expanded agreement, both airlines will be able to codeshare each other’s flights, allowing both airlines to sell and market each other’s flights. For Alaska Airlines flyers, it creates new options for Europe travel from 12 U.S. airports, including Seattle-Tacoma International Airport (SEA), Portland International Airport (PDX), San Francisco International Airport (SFO), and Los Angeles International Airport (LAX). From Condor’s European hubs, flyers can now seamlessly book travel onwards to over 100 destinations.

“Condor has been working in close partnership with Alaska Airlines for more than ten years, and now with our new codeshare agreement, we are able to build upon our successful interline agreement, which offered seamless connectivity, ticket and baggage handling services,” Mikko Turtiainen, director of sales for the Americas at Condor, said in a statement. “The codeshare also truly supports Condor’s winter network, offering Condor connectivity from cities large and small such as Portland, San Francisco, and Boise, through our year-round gateway in Seattle, something that we are truly thrilled to now be able to offer.”

With the agreement complete, Alaska Airlines now has 16 partnerships outside of the Oneworld Alliance. Eleven of the partnerships allows flyers to earn and use miles across airlines, including Icelandair, Korean Air, and Singapore Airlines. Aboard five smaller airlines, including Bahamasair and Cape Air, Mileage Plus members can only earn miles.
