Protesting Airport Workers Arrested

Port Authority police arrested a dozen Newark Liberty International Airport (EWR) workers Monday who were seeking a raise to $15 an hour from the airport’s current minimum wage of $10.10.

Over 200 EWR employees marched from Terminal B to Terminal C to call attention to their demands and 12 of the protesters were arrested after they sat in a circle on an elevated roadway to block traffic.

The march at EWR was just one of 10 held nationwide in such cities as Chicago, Philadelphia, and Seattle.
