Airline Wins in Bomb Threat Tweet Case

Budget carrier Ryanair has prevailed in a court case involving a bomb threat against the airline originating from an anonymous Twitter account in February 2016. The airline was able to identify the user – Brian Lake from Pennsylvania, operating under the handle “@GunnexGod” – after obtaining subpoenas from Twitter. Ryanair then filed claims of defamation and extortion with the U.S. District Court in 2017, according to TravelMole.
