Airline Lets Crew Skip Route Due to Headscarf Rule

After expressing concern about being asked to wear headscarves upon arriving in Tehran, unhappy female Air France crew members are now allowed to opt out of the new Paris-Tehran route by the airline.

“If, for personal reasons, they don’t want to wear the headscarf when they leave the plane, they would be reassigned to another destination,” said Gilles Gateau, Air France’s human resources director.

"German carrier Lufthansa has been flying to Iran for years, and said it has never had staff complain about wearing the traditional dress when exiting the plane in Tehran. Lufthansa have now plans to increase that service due to rising demand."
