Airline Adds Fort Lauderdale to U.S. Destinations

Emirates announced on Tuesday that it will begin scheduling nonstop flights to Fort Lauderdale, marking the carrier’s only other Florida destination after Orlando. The airline will commence nonstop nonstop service between Fort Lauderdale and Dubai on December 15, offering a single daily round-trip flight between the  two cities. Emirates estimates the trip, which utilizes a Boeing 777-200LR aircraft, will last 16 hours, 25 minutes for the Florida-bound flights and 14 hours, 20 minutes for return flights to Dubai.

“We launched our non-stop Dubai-Orlando service roughly a year ago and its strong performance encouraged us to select Fort Lauderdale as our 11th U.S. destination,” said Emirates President Tim Clark.
