Airbus: Our Fleet Will Be Doubled by 2036

According to Airbus’s Global Market Forecast for 2017-2036, the aircraft manufacturer plans to increase its aircraft fleet to twice its number for a total of more than 40,000 planes. The forecast cited rising customer income, tourism, and new routes as factors for the expansion.

“Air travel is remarkably resilient to external shocks and doubles every 15 years,” said John Leahy, chief operating officer of customers for Airbus.
