Airbus Might Shift Funds to A321 Model

Airbus Sales Chief John Leahy announced Monday that the company may allocate more of its narrow-body jetliner production toward the popular A321 model, the largest member of the A320 family. The 185-seat A321neo has accounted for more orders than the 178-seat Boeing MAX 9, encouraging Boeing to consider building a new model in order to compete with the A321’s success. “If you look at what is being produced now, it is approaching 50 percent on A321,” Leahy told Reuters.

MAX9, SUPER 10 or DASH whatever. It's still a 737 which conception dates back 50 years ago. Enough squeezing the milk cow. Time now to get back to a blank page.

Boeing doesn't need a "new" model. They found ways to stretch and refresh the 737 for literally decades, and the MAX model will have the latest in avionics and engine technology and efficient design. Why can't the 757 be resurrected and refreshed?

Boeing made a strategic mistake by not offering a true replacement for the 757.
