Airbus Celebrates Delivery of 10,000th Aircraft

On Friday, Airbus celebrated the milestone of having delivered the company’s 10,000th aircraft since its founding as an aircraft manufacturer. The 10,000th plane  happens to be the company’s latest design: an Airbus A350 that was sold to Singapore Airlines.

“We are honored and proud to have Singapore Airlines receive our 10,000th aircraft today,” said Airbus CEO Tom Enders.

“10,000 is an astonishing number.”

Enders also speculated on what the founders of Airbus would think of the company’s 10,000th aircraft sold, saying, “Even they could not have foreseen that we would be delivering already in 2016 our 10,000th aircraft.”
