All 99 passengers and four crew members have survived the crash of Aeromexico Flight 2431, which came down just shortly after takeoff on Tuesday from DGO in northern Mexico. According to eyewitness accounts, the plane struggled in inclement conditions. The injured are receiving local medical care.

All 103 persons onboard a Mexico City-bound Aeromexico plane which crashed on Tuesday shortly after takeoff from Durango’s General Guadalupe Victoria International Airport (DGO) have survived, say Mexican officials.

The incident occurred just after the plane, Aeromexico Flight 2431, departed from DGO in poor weather. According to ABC News, the Embraer 190 was carrying 99 passengers and four crew members when it crashed.

The cause of the crash is not yet known, but passenger Juan Rivera gave the outlet his eyewitness account of events, saying, “[We] shouldn’t have been flying, bro. We started picking up speed and then it started getting windier. She tried to pick up, then went back down. That happened like three times, bro.”

“And then the third time we bounced we hit like a barrier. I just seen a bunch of smoke, opened the door. I got out and started pulling people out. I looked at the side and there was a guy with two kids — that’s when I started getting the kids,” he added.

It has been reported that 85 people were wounded in the crash, all of whom have been taken to area hospitals. Two passengers are reported to be in critical condition. The roster of passengers is said to have included nine children as well as two infants.

In an official statement by Aeromexico, the carrier said that, “We deeply regret the events of this Tuesday evening involving Flight AM 2431 from Durango bound for Mexico City.”

Speaking at a press conference, Andres Conesa, the CEO of Grupo Aeromexico, was quoted as saying, “Our heart is with those affected and their families. We are deeply saddened and moved by this incident, and we would like to reiterate, first of all, that the Grupo Aeromexico family extends its support, thoughts, and prayers to those affected and their families.”

“We are doing everything in our power to assist them,” he added.
