AA Agrees to Raise Pay for Regional Pilots

American Airlines has agreed to raise the pay and bonuses of pilots working for two of its regional airlines in an effort to recruit more employees and compensate for a shortage of pilots. Envoy Air and PSA Airlines announced on Wednesday that they will boost the entry-level pay for newly recruited pilots by as much as 50 percent higher than the current rate and pair it with a bonus program worth as much as $35,000 in benefits.

“Our ability to attract and retain the most talented pilots has been critical to our success,” said Ric Wilson, Envoy’s vice president of flight operations.

“Hiring more new pilots allows us to compete for additional flying.”
